Basic English

• Length of Course: 1 year
• Prerequisites:  None

Students will read selections in different genres and apply a variety of reading strategies, particularly interactive reading strategies, appropriate for reading the selections.  They will analyze literary elements and use a variety of strategies to read unfamiliar words and build vocabulary.  they will learn elements of grammar, usage, and style, use recursive writing processes to write in a variety of forms, and express and support responses to various types of texts.
